For a donation of $50, you may choose (1) silk prints created by Alexandra Sanders, AKA the LadyWhoLovesBirds. There are (3) choices above: Sandhill Crane, El Capitan Yosemite and the Barn Owl. Each silk print is of an original BATIK* created by the artist.
*BATIK is an ancient technique of using molten wax and dyes on fabric to create a unique design, layering wax and dye, over and over. When we are done layering, the fabric is covered in wax; the design is really no longer visible. The wax is ironed off, in what is likened to the harvest; it can be the highlight (or disappointment) of the process. The ironing “reveals” the design and it can be very exciting. The Santa Cruz Artist is dedicated to wildlife and donates fully 20% of the profit from her artwork to various non-profits whose mission aligns with her own: to help those who cannot help themselves. Here is a link for how we all can help the Australian fire crisis. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/australia-fires-how-to-help-victims-evacuees-firefighters-animals-wildfires/ The artist’s donation will go to the various wildlife groups mentioned in this link. Each print comes with a certificate of authenticity noting that the print, 1) is actually created by the artist; 2) the design is completely original; 3) when it was created, etc. Print is 8.5” X 11”, comes to you ready to frame. with a ¼” white border. It will be backed with foam core and in a plastic sleeve; it will ship in a rigid mailer. |
