Welcome to my GIFTS for BIRD LOVERS page. Here you will find those special gifts for bird lovers.
My love of birds began many years ago when I rescued my first bird, a mourning dove. A cat was stalking it and I was probably 16 years old and thought that did not look OK. So I scared away the cat and the dove must have been a pet as it came right to me....very easy rescue. So began my journey to become the LadyWhoLovesBirds.
I have come to not only be a lover of birds, but an avid conservationist and educator about birds. I want to share my love of birds but also help individuals know how they can help birds. So much of the time people take wildlife for granted and don't realize that birds and all wildlife need our help. Even a bowl of water can make a big difference especially during the summer months or during a drought as we are experiencing in California. You can read what I have to say about this in my blog: click here.
The work you see below are my own designs of the birds I love. I have used two mediums to create this original work: watercolor and the wax resist technique of BATIK. Then I use my designs to create greeting cards primarily, heavy duty canvas tote bags and delicate bird ornaments. All of these gifts for bird lovers are like no others you will find. My designs are completely original.

The TOTES or MARKET BAGS make wonderful GIFTS FOR BIRD LOVERS. Completely reusable, washable (turn inside out, cold water, very light dry), sturdy and as large as a standard market bag, I have piled mine full of heavy items and never have felt like I was taxing its strength.
The GREETING CARDS are perfect for the bird lover in your life. I make them entirely myself. I print them individually and hand decorate them. Most of the cards have a delicate spritzing of an iridescent sparkle. This offers some protection. I offer choices for all my GREETING CARDS. The RE-USABLE GREETING CARD is my favorite. I have long felt it was such a waste to receive a card and then wonder what to do with it, often tossing it when I just had too many. I tried cutting off the front, pasting it onto another card, but then I needed envelopes.....suffice it to say, it did not work very well. So I have designed a re-usable card. Each card comes with a block of approximately 10 Post-its attached to the inside for writing one's message. Several envelopes are also included. The idea is to write your message on the top Post-it or two, and send it off, including the remaining envelopes. The next person can do the same and so on. It can be used 3 times. Additional envelopes and Post-its are reading available and if not, I offer them for the cost of postage to anyone who contacts me. Re-Usable Greeting Cards are a gift in themselves for that special person you know who LOVES BIRDS. Other options include SILK CARDS and standard cards.
THE PAPER ORNAMENTS are very sweet and are charming gifts for bird lovers. Again, I hand make these paper ornaments from my original designs. I print them up, cut them out, hand decorate them adding glitter and little silver bells from India. I hang my paper ornaments year round. I have one hanging in my car from my mirror; I have a set of three in the kitchen on the wall-my little kitchen birds of good luck; I hang one from my pull chain for the overhead fan; and I also hang them in the window. They are two-sided so visible inside and out. They are very sweet and completely unique and sure to please any lover of birds.
