I went into Safeway and asked if they had Organic Cereal? I was directed to the center of the cereal isle which was pretty full of cereal boxes marked NATURAL. Only 5 boxes of truly ORGANIC CEREAL did I find. Obviously not a hot item and I really don't understand. All the other cereals have to be GMO, right? With all the hoopla about GMO crops, what company wouldn't want the public to know if they knew their product was non-GMO? I think one of the BIG problems with GMO labeling seems to be going back to the SOURCE. I mean, do you think that the cereal companies know where they get every little kernel and what the genetic make-up is? I think the best plan is just to buy organic, period, for any packaged goods (bread, cereal), meats, poultry, dairy. I asked the Meat Dept Manager at COSTCO if all their meats and poultry contain hormones and/or antibiotics. He honestly told me he did not know but said he would find out. Two weeks later he called me and said the only meats or poultry that do not have hormones and/or antibiotics, were marked organic. All COSTCO meat and poultry not marked organic have hormones and/or antibiotics. Something to think about. Click on the GMO to read about Monsanto's Dirty Dozen that they have created. What a company!
